Every year, we celebrate World Book Day, to share the joy and love for books and reading. Of course, as an early years setting, we promote reading and literacy on a daily basis, by sharing and exploring stories and spending time reading to and with the children. However, World Book Day is an excuse to really celebrate everything related to books and reading!

This year, it is safe to say, we had a LOT of fun! The staff team all dressed up as characters from popular children's books; many of our little moons came to nursery in fancy dress; the team set up lots of exciting and engaging play invitations based on the children's favourite books and of course, we read lots of stories!

In addition to all of this, it was even more exciting day for our Full Moons, as they went on their very first outing! The children, accompanied by a few of the staff team, walked into town to our local Waterstones bookshop for a story-telling session! After enjoying a few stories, the children then has a picnic on the green and walked back to nursery in time for snack!

We had such an amazing day, we can't wait for next year!
