It's no secret that here at Banana Moon Barnstaple, we LOVE autumn! As soon as the weather starts turning and the leaves begin falling from the trees we start getting into the autumn spirit.

This year, thanks to the success of our vegetable patch, we've had our very own pumpkins that we've been able to play with and explore and we've even used some to help us decorate the nursery!

We're fortunate that our neighbours have a beautiful big horse chestnut tree in their garden, this means that we get lots of conkers falling into our garden. The children love collecting the conkers and we use them for lots of different activities, from counting, to paint-rolling, and much more!

The children also love collecting twigs and leaves and talking about the changes that they can see. To further extend this learning, we have prepared autumn treasure bags for the children to take home, to see what natural autumnal objects they find on their home adventures! They can then explore the natural objects at home, or they can bring them into nursery to explore with their friends.
