Children born between 01/09/2018 and 31/08/2019 are entitled to start full time Primary Education in September 2023.

 

The application facility opened on 15th November 2022 and closes at midnight on 15th January 2023. It is important that you apply before the closing date, even if you are intending to defer your child’s admission until later in the academic year, you must secure a place before that decision need be made.

Most families tend to apply using the online facility at www.devon.gov.uk/admissionsonline. You should receive a letter from the Admissions Team shortly, providing a Unique Identifying Number which will facilitate that application. It is not essential to have this number to apply and if you do not receive a letter, you may proceed through the screens by first selecting ‘NO UID’. The Local Authority is anxious that no application is delayed beyond the closing date as Schools have limits placed upon them and they must offer places up to the determined number in the first round – no places can be held in reserve for late applicants. Each year there are parents who are disappointed that places at local schools are not available because they did not apply on time.
