Every year, the North Devon Show takes place on the outskirts of Umberleigh and is "a traditional one day show and is a celebration of all things Rural and has something for everyone."

This year was our second year at the event, and after a very wet and muddy 2023 show (where we were stranded in the mud until well into the evening!) we were not sure what to expect for 2024!

This year, we therefore partnered with the South West Children's Hospice (SWCH), sharing a marquee with them. The amazing team of volunteers from SWCH were on hand providing hot drinks, delicious cakes and selling plants, all for donations towards their incredible cause. Whilst families enjoyed their cuppas and yummy treats, we provided activities for the little ones to enjoy! We provided a clean, spacious baby-changing area as well as a play-dough station, soft play area and a farm-themed tuff tray set-up. We even supplied one family with electricity so they could prepare their baby's formula with their perfect-prep machine!

We were busy throughout the day, and it was great to chat to so many local families, and to see children of all ages enjoying the activities we provided. Of course, it wouldn't be the North Devon Show without some interesting weather! Despite the promising forecast, every now and then the heavens opened, and our marquee was flooded with people seeking shelter and some indoor activities!

The entire show was full of fun and exciting things for families and children of all ages. From the animal shows and demonstrations, the giant tortoises, the fair-ground rides, the tractors, there really was something for everyone. This year, a children's trail was also available; there were a number of different checkpoints throughout the showground for children to find, complete an activity and then collect a stamp. Once they had collected all the stamps, they could collect their prize from the Secretary's Office, which included a rosette! 

We had such an awesome day, and we can't wait to be there again next year!
