We recently hosted a bake sale for Bliss, the charity that supports sick and premature babies. This is a cause that is very close to our hearts, as our Directors’ daughter was born prematurely last September and spent the first week of her life in SCBU. They were very lucky that their SCBU stay was brief and baby Iska was a good weight and only needed a little support, but it really opened up their eyes to the world of neo-natal care and the effect it can have on parents.

We therefore hosted a bake sale to raise money for Bliss. Our staff all contributed by baking a range of different bakes, from cake pops to flapjacks, to cookies, to cupcakes - there really was something for everyone! We were also really fortunate to be given donations from a local cafe (Charlie’s in Barnstaple) and from Sainsburys to sell. Each day our parents (and little ones!) purchased the bakes at pick up and collection times, and we managed to raise over £200! We’ve also added a donation of our own to this, making the total money raised for Bliss £300.

We’d like to say an enormous thank you to the parents for buying the bakes and donating money and to our staff, Charlie’s Cafe and Sainsbury’s for baking such delicious treats!
